Mindful Cognitive
Behavioral Play Therapy

In this 3 hour play
therapy training you will learn the basic theoretical framework of cognitive
behavioral play therapy, the importance of positive behavioral support (PBS)
and how to do it correctly (The myths will be debunked). You will learn
how to explain PBS to parents and teachers, and the language to build new
adaptive behaviors will be clearly presented.. Several tools and techniques
will be taught and live session videos will be utilized as examples. This
will be a training you can walk out of with a new tool kit to immediately
implement in your practice. Skills to support you with treating ADHD,
behavioral disorders, anxiety, depression, hyperactivity - ANYONE - including you
- will benefit from learning these concepts. You will feel more confident about
working with parents, and you will be better able to explain how you make an
impact in the play therapy room. This training will be a FUN, confidence
boosting, and most of all - Empowering for anyone working with children and
families.
Objectives:
1. Participants will be able to state the 3
myths of positive behavioral support
2. Participants will be able to name the rules of
positive behavioral support
3. Participants will be able to create a
technique to build new pro-social behaviors
4. Participants will create a positive behavioral
support plan
5. Participants will have new language skills to
support them with clients and their parents
6. Participants will have increased confidence in
their ability to work with children with behavioral disorders
